Project
Objective
The objective of the project is to strengthen
research and management of the marine environment and it's resources, as
well as to enhance human resource development in this important field.
This will be accomplished by facilitating collaborative research in the
fields of marine ecology, aquatic resource management and pollution
studies as well as bilateral exchange of expertise and information for the
sustainable development and management of the Straits of Malacca.

It is envisioned that at the end of the
technical cooperation programme, the following will be the output of the
project:

Formulation of the mitigation and
abatement measures of environmental problems

Development of a reference centre on
maritime environmental studies, with special emphasis on the Straits
of Malacca
